E o Instituto D. João V, na pessoa da sua diretora, Mónica Gama, encontra-se, já, em Aveiro, no 24.° Encontro Nacional da Rede das Escolas Associadas da UNESCO

Faz-se notar que a Rede das Escolas Associadas da UNESCO (em inglês, ASPnet – UNESCO Associated Schools Network) é uma iniciativa da UNESCO que reúne milhares de escolas em todo o mundo para promover os valores e objetivos da organização através da educação.

Criada em 1953, a rede inclui atualmente cerca de 10 mil instituições de ensino em mais de 160 países. As escolas participantes comprometem-se, deste modo, a integrar nos seus projetos educativos temas como:

Educação para o desenvolvimento sustentável;

Cidadania global;

Cultura de paz e não violência;

Direitos humanos;

Diversidade cultural e diálogo intercultural;

Valorização do património cultural e natural.

It is worth noting that the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet) is a UNESCO initiative that brings together thousands of schools around the world to promote the organization’s values and objectives through education.

Established in 1953, the network currently includes around 10,000 educational institutions in more than 160 countries. Participating schools are committed to incorporating the following themes into their educational projects:

Education for Sustainable Development;

Global Citizenship;

A Culture of Peace and Non-Violence;

Human Rights;

Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue;

Appreciation and Preservation of Cultural and Natural Heritage.
